Neuroscience I: Neurodevelopment

Course Goals

1. To give you a solid understanding of the experimental underpinnings of our knowledge about neurodevelopment.

2. To give you an appreciation of the different human pathologies associated with alterations in neurodevelopment

Primary Textbook: Neuroscience, 4th Edition, Purves et al.

Supplemental Readings:

The Development of the Nervous System, Sanes et al. (on E-Reserve)

Fundamental Neuroscience, Squire et al.

Electronic Media: This class will use a variety of electronic media to enhance our understanding of neuroscience. The course website has a hyperlinked version of the syllabus that allows you to connect directly to the web based media.

“The brain is a world consisting of a number of unexplored continents and great stretches of unknown territory.”
